  • Who will be Menlo Park's future police officers?

  • Did you know ?
Many of Menlo Park's current police officers and fire fighters are from our area.

We know why you call Menlo Park "home"-for the same reasons we live and work here too. Many of us were raised here. We went to school in this area and our families still live here. This gives us a unique sense of belonging and concern for our community. We would like to encourage other local youth to follow in our footsteps and to serve their community. In this spirit, we launched the MPPOA Scholarship fund.

The MPPOA offers four annual scholarships to local high school and middle school students from the Menlo Park area who excell and wish to pursue a career in public service. The Scholarship fund is built on personal contributions from police officers and enhanced by direct donations from the community.

Menlo-Atherton High School and local middle schools assist in coordinating and selecting candidates. The scholarships are as follows:

The Jack Lyle Scholarship for Public Safety
This scholarship commemorates a fellow officer and adopted son of Menlo Park who made the ultimate sacrifice. The Lyle Scholarship is awarded every year to a local high school student who wants to pursue a career in public safety.
